Their humble espadrille design became a fashion favourite when in the 1960s, Yves Saint Laurent requested that the family produce the first ever espadrille wedge, now known as the Carina style. These black and beige Carina 60 ankle-tie wedge sandals from Castañer feature a round toe, self-tie ankle straps, a woven raffia-style sole and a mid-high wedge heel.
